The Problem

Students don't realize 9th grade is when the real decisions get made.

The typical assumption is that planning for "what's next" really starts in 11th grade when students start thinking about their path, building a plan, and imagining their future. By that logic, 9th grade should be a fairly low-stakes year.

Here's the problem with that timeline. By the time most students start paying serious attention in 11th grade, a number of decisions have already been made… many of them silently, without anyone realizing they were decisions at all.

Course tracks. Activity commitments. Work habits. Even how a student thinks about their own strengths and interests.

After 26 combined years helping students navigate the college admissions process, we kept seeing the same thing: bright kids, hardworking kids, kids whose parents were paying attention; yet, underperforming their potential. Not because they weren't smart. Not because they weren't trying….but because they prioritized obligation over their own well-being.

How It Works

32 monthly lessons. Built to meet students where they are.

A structured curriculum designed to run from September of 9th grade through April of 11th grade. About 90 minutes of student time per month. Deliberately small, so it actually happens.

Navigate each stage of high school

9th-grade lessons aren't watered-down 11th-grade lessons. The program is sequenced around what students actually need at each stage.

Start where you are

Already in 10th or 11th? Students jump in where they are. The work is different at each stage.

Actively build your own Travel Log

A private space where students reflect, apply what they've learned, and commit to action, month by month, in their own voice.

Your Travel Log

The 32-page record of who your student is becoming.

At the start of the program, students copy a structured Google Doc that becomes their own Travel Log — a private journal of evidence, growth, and self-discovery. Every month, they return to it: reflecting on what they've learned, applying it to their own life, and committing to what's next. In their own voice. On their own time.

By the time application season arrives, they don't have to search for who they are. They've been writing it down.

Travel Log — illustrated open book with a route winding to a destination pin

It's private. It's theirs. And by the time they're writing college essays, it's the most valuable document they own.

Meet the Founders

Built by two people who had seen the college readiness gap long enough. And decided to close it.

"We created RouteReady™ because we kept watching young people move through life on autopilot: doing what was expected, checking every box, and never asking what they actually wanted or why. The skills that matter most - self-awareness, intentional decision-making, understanding the 'why' behind choices - were frequently left behind. We built RouteReady™ to change the paradigm."

What Families Say

From parents who've worked with us.

"I wish someone had told us in 9th grade that the choices we were making would matter in future opportunities. We thought we were just getting through the year."

— Parent of a college freshman

"The conversations RouteReady™ prompts have been some of the best ones we've had with our son. He talks. We listen. We've learned things we didn't know."

— Parent of a 10th grader

"By the time my daughter was a junior, she was so much further along than her peers. She'd been thinking about this for two years."

— Parent of a high school senior

Frequently Asked

Questions parents ask us.

No. The work in 10th and 11th grade looks different from 9th grade. Students jump in where they are. In 10th grade, we focus on direction. In 11th grade, we move faster on foundation pieces and focus on what's most pressing.
Most aren't, at first. That's normal. The lessons are designed around discovery, not lecturing. Students start finding out things about themselves they didn't know. This is a way to energize students, rather than just telling them "you need to start thinking about college." We are realistic. Younger students might need some prompting from a parent, but that need turns into independent thinking, fast!
Different systems entirely. RouteReady™ is a structured curriculum your student works through — no scheduled time with Jodi or Denise. College Unlimited is personal 1:1 advising where you work directly with one of us through the whole journey.
$26 per month. No long-term commitment — cancel anytime. We deliberately priced this to be accessible because the whole point is for more families to have access to structured support, not fewer.
Less than you might think. The work in RouteReady™ happens in your student's Travel Log, which is private to them by default. Your involvement is whatever your student chooses to share — and most students do share, when they're ready. The program creates moments for conversation. It doesn't force them.
No. Anyone who tells you they can guarantee that is lying or misleading you. We help students become clearer, more intentional, more self-aware applicants by the time they apply.
AI can answer questions. It can't ask the right one at the right moment. RouteReady™ doesn't wait for you to know what to ask. It delivers the right lesson at the right time because the timing is the whole point. Twenty-six years of watching what actually matters, built into a sequence. That's not something you can replicate with a prompt.

Ready When You Are

Three ways to start.

Whether you're ready to jump in or still want to learn more, pick whichever fits where you are.

Whichever path you choose, we hope it gives you something useful.
